Appalachian Trail
The Appalachian Trail extends from Mt Khatadin Maine to Springer Mountain, Georgia. It is one of three major trails in the US. At one time it was the longest footpath constructed entirely of volunteer labor. It is accessible by car, just a few miles from Gatlinburg.
