Trip from Florida to
Ecuador
In the summer of 2008
or 2009, Bill Clapp and myself will take our KR2s
on a trip from Florida to Ecuador. We will fly to Key West FL, then along
the north coast of Cuba to Cancun Mexico. From Cancun we will fly south
following the coastline of Belize to The bay islands of Honduras. From
Honduras we will fly to Costa Rica, then to
Panama. From Panama we will
fly along the coast of Columbia to Ecuador. We well return along the same
route but go into Guatemala to Guatemala City, then north to view some Mayan ruins . We will
complete our return back to Cancun then to Key West and back home.
Bill grew up in Ecuador and knows many
MAF
pilots in the areas we will be flying. I will be visiting a child I
sponsor in Guatemala.
We will be using ONC charts for navigation.
Flying will all be VFR to allow for maximum sight seeing. We are planning
for the trip to be two to three weeks in duration. We are both adding
external bearings and turbochargers to our engines. Because of upgrading
our engines and school schedules we may have to wait until 2007 for this trip.

tail of my KR2 will provide video of our trip and will be posted on this
