March 18, 2009 KR2 Update
(1) The back of the spinner was painted black paint with a silver spot ay one point. The propeller was then reassembled with the crush plate, spacers, and 2nd backing plate. The 13 inch spinner was installed. The EIS box has been updated to measure airspeed and altitude. The EIS box was reinstalled in the panel and the pressure lines hooked up to the system. The 25 pin "D" connectors were attached. (2) Small amounts of grinding was done on the instrument panel radio bay to fit the radios. (3) SS braided oil lines were cut to length and fittings installed. Hoses were run from the top plate on the rear housing to the remote oil filter, and from the sandwich adapter to the location for the oil cooler (4) Mounting brackets were made to mount the oil cooler. (5) Work was started on the mounting brackets for the alternator and the vacuum pump. (6) The control stick was removed, cleaned and painted. The rear spar openings that allowed the control cables to pass through were enlarged to allow the pushrod to pass through. Fabrication of the bell crank-pushrod assembly for the stabilizer control was started. (7) The second cabin light was installed. (8) The cowling was installed to check for clearance of a purposed air scoop. There was not enough clearance and the idea was abandoned.
