January 31 Latest work on my KR2

Work continues on mounting the alternator, vacuum pump, and coils.  The heavy-duty tail wheel was completed and installed.  William Wynn's dual point distributor with the electronic points was installed.  Initial design of the exhaust system was started.  A turbonator type  device was fabricated to improve fuel mixture.  Initial instrument panel cutouts were made for the six pack.  New Dan Diehl fixed gear was ordered for the plane.  Support stands were made to hold the plane during the gear change.

The alternator will mount low on the right side of the firewall.

View of alternator and intake manifold.

The bracket that holds the intake manifold on was modified to move the intake further forward.

The motor mount was lowered to get more clearance in the cowling.

Because I am not using a low profile starter, I trimed as much as I could off the top of thestarter.

6" tailwheel. Bill'sown design.

The 6" tail wheel give the plane better handling on dirt strips.

Weight testing the new tailwheel.

Bill and I working on mounting the vacuum pump.

A small section of tubing with slots and the sections twisted should work as good as a $65 Tornado to mix the fuel and air.

Chandra removing the wheels from a old landing gear.

500x5 wheels as pulled off the old gear.
