Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge

This view is featured on many postcards and is where much of Hawaii's taro is grown.  It is a cooperative effort with the government since the wetlands needed for the wildlife is what is needed to grow taro.  The root of the taro plant is pounded to produce Poi.
