Chalk's Ocean Airways

A man named Arthur Burns "Pappy" Chalk began flying a three seat Stinson Voyager between Florida and the Bahamas in 1919.  In the US Prohibition area his first customers were bootleggers and the cargo was whisky and rum.  From this beginning Chalks has become the worlds oldest continuously operating airline in the world.  The airline's headquarters is in Miami Florida.  Chalk's current destinations, as of December 2005, include Bimini, Cat Cay, and Paradise Island.

Chalk's has a near perfect safety record (except for one hijacking to Cuba in the 1970s) and reliable adherence to schedules, it had been a top choice for Bahamian travel prior to its planes being grounded in December 2005.
